A Moneycontrol report says that about 3,000 saplings can be planted on one hectare of land and each sapling costs about Rs 7 or 8.

Eucalyptus saplings are sold in the market for Rs 6-7 per kg. Thus about 3,000 trees can easily fetch you Rs 70-80 lakh. These trees have an affinity to grow upwards without spreading their roots much and hence many saplings can be adjusted on limited land.

The Safeda tree, which is originally native to Australia, thrives in the Indian climate as well. It does not require a lot of tending to and achieve maximum growth in a period of 5 years.
